Film: The Teacher Who Promised the Sea

El maestro que prometió el mar is a Spanish film based on true events and follows the life of Antoni Benaiges, a Catalan teacher who teaches in the 1930s at a small school in a remote village in Burgos. He introduces modern, progressive teaching methods based on freedom of expression and creativity. Benaiges promises his students that he will one day show them the sea—a dream that he unfortunately cannot fulfill.
