We Want Miles

The 100 years of Miles Davis Cette year, jazz celebrates the centenary of the birth of Miles Davis, a major and elusive figure who, throughout his life, never ceased to push the boundaries of sound. This project pays tribute to this perpetual quest for novelty: a musical journey that begins in the hushed mists of Kind of Blue (1959), a masterpiece of modal jazz, and ventures as far as the electric and groovy bursts of the 80s. On stage, six musicians revisit these different eras with the same requirement: to bring the spirit of Miles to life rather than freezing it. Between lyricism and energy, acoustic and electric, the sextet weaves a dialogue between the eras — a celebration of movement, freedom, and sound. On the menu, some essentials from Kind of Blue, from his collaborations with Herbie Hancock or Wayne Shorter, to his last more electric period with notably Tutu, Amandla, Jean-Pierre, Human Nature, etc. Without forgetting the legendary "Elevator to the Gallows".
