Vrij Kleien - Discover the magic of clay

Get inspired and discover the peace of working with clay. During this workshop, you will form entirely by hand , without a potter's wheel, whatever you want: a mug, bowl, figurine, or something totally unexpected. There are no fixed assignments - only inspiration, guidance, and space to experiment. During the workshop you will learn: Various hand-building techniques: such as the pinch-pot, coil (rolling sausages), and slab technique - you will discover different ways to build and shape with clay Connecting and reinforcing shapes: how to firmly attach parts, for example, a handle, foot, or decorative element Surface finishing and decorating: smoothing, adding texture, or - if you like - painting with engobes (colored clay) After the workshop: Your piece will dry and be fired at 950 °C Afterward, it will receive a transparent glaze , making your artwork food-safe and dishwasher-safe After about 6 weeks , you can pick up your finished piece in Mortsel Practical info: For whom: Anyone who feels like being creative – no experience needed! Price: 70 EUR pp (taxes included) 2 pieces per person are included in the price. If you would like to make more, you pay 15€ per piece on-site. When: Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM Where: Atelier Studio Claybird - Kaleidoscoop Mortsel Bring along: Apron or old shirt, small (kitchen) towel Included: All materials, tools, and guidance. The pieces will be transparently glazed and can be picked up in Mortsel after approx. 6 weeks. Take some time for yourself, feel the clay in your hands, and let something emerge that is entirely yours - a tangible memory of peace and creativity. ------- Cancellation by the participant In case of cancellation more than one month before the start of the workshop, the registration fee will be refunded , minus an administrative fee of €20 . In case of cancellation less than one month before the start , the registration fee will not be refunded , unless someone from the waiting list can take your place or you find a replacement yourself. Exchanges or make-up classes are not provided. Cancellation by the organizer In case of insufficient registrations , the workshop may be canceled. In that case, you will receive notification at the latest one week in advance , and the registration fee will be fully refunded (without deduction of administrative costs).
