Every year, the Open Kerkendagen put religious heritage in the spotlight during the first weekend of June. On Sunday, June 7, 2026, as a church council, we are opening our local church to the general public with an attractive program. 2:00 PM. Guided visit to the church We start with a guided visit to our beautiful historical church. Through a presentation, you will first be immersed in the extensive history of the church. You can discover the valuable historical and artistic heritage during a tour of the church (duration 45 min.). 3:00 PM. Walk in the rural village center of Sint-Denijs Sint-Denijs offers a wealth of slow roads along which it is wonderful to walk to enjoy the wide vistas in a hilly landscape. Via the typical church paths of our village, we arrive at stunning locations and trace our church as a beacon in the landscape. The walk covers about 6 kilometers, under guidance. 3:00 PM. A valid alternative to the walk could be a visit to our neighboring churches in Spiere and Helkijn: The churches of Spiere and Helkijn are also participating in the Open Church Days. These equally beautiful little churches are both just a few kilometers away. 5:00 PM. Concert trio LosDelTrè As a closing and the icing on the cake, we can offer you a free concert by a virtuoso guitar trio. With only three guitars, this trio brings a dazzling palette of sound and rhythm in the rumba-flamenco sphere. The concert lasts about 90 minutes. Want a taste?
