In collaboration with the Consolato Generale of Brussels and the Dante Alighieri Genk-Brussels, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (IIC) of Brussels invites you to the screening of the film Marina, a biopic based on the life of Rocco Granata. The evening will include a dialogue with Michelino Bisceglia, a Belgian pianist and composer of Italian origin. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous prestigious international jazz musicians, composing the music for multiple feature films presented at international festivals, including Cannes and the Mostra Internazionale of Arte Cinematografica in Venice. Il Maestro also received a World Soundtrack Award at the Ghent Festival in 2014 for best soundtrack for the film Marina. Il Maestro will also offer a musical interlude during which he will perform some arias from the film's soundtrack. Starting from his young age and the move to Belgium, where his father works as a miner, up to his international success with “Marina”, the film retraces the life of Rocco Granata, recounting not only a young boy's determination to achieve his dream, but also the theme of migration. 2013, VO NL/IT, ST IT, 118’
