De Parijse surrealists swore by the importance of the subconscious and developed several techniques to activate their subconscious imagination. Magritte had his own singular approach to distilling the mystery from the everyday as a visual philosopher. Less known is that many abstract artists also let themselves be influenced and inspired by occultism and spirituality. In this guided tour, we go in search of the subconscious and occult traces hidden in the art of the early 20th century. Practical information – When?
