Four of the strongest musicians from the international jazz scene, just like that in our Kraakhuis Met. 'Portable Infinity' saw Benjamin Koppel Quartet deliver a stellar record in 2024. In our Kraakhuis, they are presenting a new CD, but I'll eat my hat if it isn't at least as strong. How could it be otherwise, with band members who each have a CV that features the biggest names in jazz? Magnus Öström was the drummer for Esbjörn Svensson Trio (E.S.T.), the iconic piano trio that captivated the general public with its mix of jazz and rock. Bassist Scott Colley was a welcome guest in the bands of Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, and Carmen McRae. De Zweedse super-pianist Jacob Karlzon releases his records with Warner and ACT. En Benjamin Koppel himself has almost sixty (60!) albums to his name, in addition to collaborations with Joe Lovano, Kenny Werner, and Brian Blade. You can already see why we would bet our heads that this will be a top evening.
