BioBlitz Permeke in collaboration with Natuurpunt Jabbeke

Sunday, June 7 – from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM On Sunday, June 7, the Permeke Museum and Natuurpunt Jabbeke are organizing a BioBlitz together. During this nature survey, we will try to find and register as many plants and animals as possible in the museum garden in one afternoon. Everyone can participate: families, nature lovers, beginners, and experts. The green museum garden is full of life. With a magnifying glass or net in hand, you can explore the flower meadow, the pond, the mouse riders, and much more. We can also take a closer look at small finds using a microscope. We will register all finds (plants, mushrooms, insects, birds, amphibians, mammals, etc.) using the Obsidentify app. In this way, we are building a first baseline measurement of the biodiversity in the garden together. We will also use data from Willem Billiet, a nature guide in training, who uses the Permeke garden as a study area. During the BioBlitz, museum café Noordwest will be open. Velt and our garden storyteller will be available all day to explain which principles of ecological gardening have been applied in the museum garden.
