Sophie Verger : "Bear Column" contemproary animal sculpture art exhibition

For Sophie Verger, sculpture is much more than shaping bronze. She sculpts poems, capturing entire stories in a single piece. Through a playful gesture, a tender expression, or an unexpected encounter between animals, she brings to life those precious moments that remind us of who we are — and who we once were. With her new exhibition Bear Column, Sophie Verger invites us into a whimsical world where childhood poetry comes alive, shared moments warm the heart, and the impossible suddenly feels within reach. Each figure tells its own story, while together they celebrate the joy of being connected, the courage to find balance, and the beauty of supporting one another. Beneath their charming appearance lies something deeply human: a longing for spontaneity, a desire to rediscover our innocence, and the freedom to embrace life with curiosity and laughter. Sophie Verger reminds us that tenderness is a strength, humour is a form of wisdom, and the simplest gestures can hold the most profound emotions.
