The Choral, Cinema Rounds

In the war-torn Yorkshire of 1916, the local choir threatens to disappear when almost all men have left for the front. The board of the Choral Society, determined to continue, is forced to recruit its singers from the boys of the village - teenagers who themselves are on the verge of being called up for military service. At the same time, a new conductor must be appointed. The choice falls on Dr. Henry Guthrie, a driven and uncompromising musician who has recently returned from Germany. Under Onder Guthrie’s strict but passionate leadership, the boys discover the power of singing together: camaraderie, comfort, and a glimmer of hope in a time dominated by loss and uncertainty.
