SWING DEALERS FEATURING VANESSA MATHYS THE COLE PORTER SONGBOOK

A TRIBUTE TO COLE PORTER Vanessa Mathys meets Swing Dealers! The Music Village invites you to a special evening celebrating Cole Porter, the creator of some of the most elegant and timeless songs in the Great American Songbook, including Night and Day, I’ve Got You Under My Skin and Love for Sale. The programme will explore the full richness of his musical world: vocal duets featuring Vanessa Mathys and Jean Van Lint, lively exchanges between the voices and Vincent Mardens’ saxophone, intimate trio and quartet moments, as well as many songs performed in purely instrumental versions. SWING DEALERS Vincent Mardens on saxophone, Dirk Van der Linden on piano, Jean Van Lint on double bass and vocals, and Jan De Haas on drums — musicians who need no introduction to Music Village audiences — the concert will offer a complete palette of moods, colours and styles. All these different approaches will be united by one common thread: Cole Porter’s magnificent compositions, revisited with elegance, freedom and swing for everyone’s enjoyment, from seasoned jazz lovers to newcomers.  about your concert
