The Bonnie Blues are a kind of Boswell Sisters and The Boswell Sisters are a kind of Andrew Sisters. There are a few big differences; The Bonnie Blues are alive and kicking and play their own instruments. Their mission, however, is the same: a lighthearted evening full of humor and relaxation. Van Leo Martin to Queen, from De Nieuwe Snaar to The Ramblers: they all form inspiration for Nele Paelinck, Juno Kerstens, and Laura Vanden Heede. With this first full-fledged performance ‘In Eigen Nat’, they open their view on contemporary society, doused in a musical sauce of the 10s to the 80s. Three-part harmony and supported by many instruments, they bring the period of then to the time of now with a wink. Silliness hasn't been taken this seriously in years.
