Loraine Dambermont: "Always 3/4 face!" Dance + 12 years old Always 3/4 face! For Selon Johnny Cadillac, a former Belgian karateka, the three-quarter face position is THE ultimate defensive stance. An assertion with the air of a martial truth, slightly surreal, which becomes for Loraine Dambermont the starting point of a delightful survival guide. In Avec Toujours of 3/4 face!, the choreographer and performer transforms this principle into an explosive solo, somewhere between a self-defense tutorial, a choreographic performance, and an absurd manifesto. Alone on stage, she reveals live the most infallible techniques to face the dangers of daily life, the unpredictability of the world, and, above all, the very self-assured speeches that claim to teach us how to survive. Between dance, performance, and Belgian humor, the show jubilantly dismantles virilist codes: the warrior's posture, mandatory mastery, the body ready for combat, fear brandished as an argument, violence transformed into a method. Loraine Dambermont pushes these logics to the absurd, to better reveal their underlying ridicule and brutality. Her choreography, explosive and precise, puts the body to the test. Endurance, precision, extreme coordination: everything seems to respond to a rule of defense, but everything ends up veering into a funny, incisive, and frankly surreal universe.
