Even today, many boys grow up integrating into their child's armor the aptitudes and virtues expected of "a man." Masculinity is often the only score they are given to play: its codes, its rules, its injunctions, its predations – without ever questioning the nature of the script. Many men then struggle to perceive its color, and continue to play the patriarchal score – thus depriving themselves of acting, living, and loving differently.
