Artist in Residence: Showcase Sunchaser

With the recent renovations at Steenstraat 11, AB is now also creating space for residencies: a place where artists and collectives can explore, experiment and create.In June, Sunchaser is Artist in Residence at the AB Lab. The result of a week of experimentation can be seen at this showcase!Sunchaser started when Cam (Instar) asked Niels to collaborate on a new project, which led to their first single “Territorio” and eventually the debut EP on Brussels label Toverberg. With Omar joining on drums, the project grew into a proper three-piece, embracing sounds shimmering and free-floating and chasing those dreams into the distance.With this residency, AB underlines its ambition to actively support artists off stage as well. Processes that are not always visible to the public are deliberately given space here, because they are essential for sustainable artistic development.
