Cinema Storck: The damsel's island

In the year 1542, an expedition to the Nieuwe Wereld takes place. 17-year-old Marguerite de la Rocque is there, because she will soon have to marry the commander – who is also her uncle. Everything changes when she meets crew member Thomas. He takes advantage of the situation and leaves her pregnant. As punishment, Marguerite is left behind together with Thomas and a maid on an uninhabited island off the coast of Newfoundland. For two years, they have to fight to survive, despite the persistent hunger, biting cold, and all-encompassing despair.
