Temporary exhibition: The Four Aymon Sons - The chanson de geste

In line with our exhibition "Le Moyen Age in comics", from June 27 to September 13, 2026, the Mpmm hosts the exhibition "Les Quatre Fils Aymon - The Chanson de Geste", bringing together original plates from the comic book by Yann Lovato. This exhibition will be offered on the top floor of the Spanish House, made accessible to visitors for the first time. "The epic poem of the Quatre Fils Aymon, both historical and legendary, was glorified and sung by the trouvères from the 12th century. A chanson de geste therefore complicit in the gathering of crowds, at fairs, in castles, and along the roads of great pilgrimages. To the rhythm of the hooves of the horse Bayard, a fairy horse, carrying on its giant rump the four sons, this adventure of the marvelous defies and confronts Charlemagne, the despotic emperor. The magic of their cousin Maugis the enchanter escorts and protects their bravery.
