DOCVILLE presents: Science Pitch Docu's

De Science Pitch docu’s are short documentaries that originated at ScienceVille, the scientific section of DOCVILLE. Since 2023, researchers at the festival have been pitching their research to a group of receptive filmmakers. After speed dates and presentations, two duos are formed, resulting in two short documentaries from that collaboration. The winged (No) Birdbrain and the vulnerable Who am I, when I wake up? are the 2 films that were given the green light to be made in 2025, and had their world premiere a few months ago at the opening night of Scienceville 2026. Mie and Tine have been struggling with depression for years. Their hope is now set on ECT. How do they experience their treatment? Do they regain their old selves bit by bit? A breeding program in the Zoo van Planckendael wants to do something about that. But it is a process of trial and error. Scientists believe it would help if we knew more about what is going on in the heads of those cinereous vultures. However, investigating that turns out to be just as complex as looking into the minds of humans.
