2m² Tayfun is the first Turkish funeral director in Belgium with an official diploma. While many deceased are still returned to Turkey, he offers families in Belgium a dignified farewell. At the same time, the 57-year-old Kemal In Kayseri runs a simple private ambulance service near a cemetery. He transports bodies of Europese Turken to their final destination in Anatolia, driven by his conviction that everyone should be buried “at home.” When Wanneer Tayfun and Kemal meet, it becomes clear how they are connected by the same ritual, but have divergent ideas about identity, duty, and what “home” means.
