He started playing the trumpet at a young age and quickly developed a passion for jazz and improvisation. He studied jazz at the conservatories of Ghent and Antwerp, where he further refined his own musical voice. In addition to his activities as bandleader of the Cedric De Lat Quintet, he is active as a freelance musician in various jazz and crossover projects. He has worked with Lander Gyselinck, Jakob Bro, blackwave., and Iskander Moon, among others.
