Stuck in his own head. In 'Take and eat of this', Joeri searches for the exit, but soon all kinds of confusing, hateful, and intrusive voices appear to complicate the search. Where do those voices even come from? Is he not alone in his head? Nowhere rest. And as if that is not enough, there is a lump of heartache on the left, while an all-paralyzing panic attack storms in from the right. And the uncertainty? It rules, with a crunchy hand. In short, it is a journey with many falls, but also a bit of getting back up. Wint Joeri the battle with himself? Does he find the way? Or does he fall into his own trap again? 'Take and eat of this' might have the answer. JOERI CHIPSVINGERS Joeri Chipsvingers is the alter ego of composer Michiel De Naegel (30,000 Monkies / Youff). Joeri experiences all kinds of adventures and then translates them into a kind of 'classical' music that explosively shoots off in all directions, only to suddenly come to an abrupt halt again, meanwhile certainly not shying away from a few touches of romantic syrup. Through this turbulent soundscape, Joeri wanders back and forth restlessly, preaching, roaring, begging. NEMØ ENSEMBLE Nemø ensemble was founded in September 2017 and is characterized by its performances of contemporary classical music. The focus here is on the experimental character of both repertoire and presentation. The collective lets existing musical works enter into dialogue with work by young artists who are just as unafraid to cross boundaries between different genres and artistic disciplines. It plays with the thin dividing line between contemporary music on the one hand and rock music, performance art, electronic music,... on the other, thus trying to connect with a broad audience. Crossover forms the core of their artistic identity. In addition, the group challenges the classical format. Every performance is preceded by a creative process in which various presentation forms are explored. This translates into compelling performances that bridge the distance between spectator and performer. Nemø ensemble not only strives for high-quality performances, but also commits itself as a curator framing the music. In collaboration with other artists, they play with light, space, and movement to provide the visitor with an intense total experience. DE KLOE De Kloe moves in the slits and crevices. They bring together obscure samples, fragmented lyrics, whimsical basslines, and jagged guitar riffs into something unpredictable and lively. Club rhythms pulse in the background, but nothing stands for long. Songs constantly change, structures fall apart, and both live and on record, the band prefers instinct over control. The result is a restless, unpredictable sound in which chaos and precision constantly collide. The trio – Midas Heuvinck, Leon Jespers and Elian Van den Eynde – lets themselves be inspired by electropunk, techno, and everything between noise and pop.
