Paul and An Vleminckx were inspired and guided by specialists from the Champagne region when they planted 21,000 Chardonnay vines on the edge of the Meerdaal Forest in Oud-Heverlee in 1994. Their goal? To make a high-quality sparkling wine according to the méthode traditionnelle. They succeeded so well that their vineyard now has 60,000 vines. De Chardonnay Meerdael is a refined sparkling wine with a fresh acidity and a clear, pale yellow color.
