For the afternoon concert on this light carillon, Koen Van Assche put together a program with consecutive baroque music composed for carillon and, on the other hand, a large section of recognizable classical music (Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven) arranged for carillon. Koen is the city carillonneur of Antwerp, Lier, Turnhout, and Herentals. He is a carillon teacher at the Mechelen Carillon School and at the academy of Lier. He won various prizes during international carillon competitions. Since 2017, he has been chairman of the Beiaard Wereld Federatie. Koen regularly gives concerts in European carillon countries, the USA, and in Canberra, Australia. Since 2014, he has owned his own mobile carillon, a project of Anna Maria Reverté and himself. As a soloist, he also performs complete works, arranged for carillon. An example of this can be heard on a carillon CD with the 'Vier Jaargetijden' by Antonio Vivaldi. In 2021, his eighth CD was released, which he made earlier that year around Matthias Vanden Gheyn.
