Canis lupus

Once upon a time there was a chalet lost in the woods, a silent father, a nervous son, and a rain that falls without end. In this chalet, there are stories that one does not tell, silences, and the wolf that prowls. Canis Lupus is a tale for grown-ups, a story where childhood slowly fades away. And where one understands, perhaps too late, that some monsters do not inhabit the forest… Adeline Dieudonné was given carte blanche to shake up the overly wise libretto of Peter and the Loup de Prokofiev, by transposing it into a contemporary pop universe where the intertwining of text, acting, and music - which has become a character in its own right - cradles, threatens, and whispers what words keep silent. Far from pathos, the themes of predation and incest are anchored in this daily life where the absurd surfaces. We also laugh, but with horror and dread.
