Day trip to Tournai

Doornik of Tournai is a Belgian city in the province of Hainaut. The municipality has nearly 70,000 inhabitants. Na Tongeren Tournai is considered the oldest city in Belgium. It was a capital of the Frankish Empire and has played an important cultural-historical role since then. Tournai already existed in Roman times under the name Turnacum. The city was situated on the Scheldt at the intersection of the Roman roads. We can visit many sights in this monumental city. This year, we are traveling by train again.
