Born near Charleroi in 1871, Biarent led the essential part of his career as a pedagogue and organizer of local musical life. Marked by the tragic climate of the war, this sonata unfolds a great expressive intensity, mixing lyrical outbursts, dramatic tension and moments of introspection.
