Lampje lives with her father in a lighthouse. Her father is a lighthouse keeper; he has only one leg and is a drunkard. Lampje regularly has to help keep the lighthouse burning. On a stormy day, things go wrong: the lamp is not burning, father was drunk again. A ship crashes against the rocks and the municipality wants to take measures.
Lampje is taken from her home. For her own good, she is placed in the Zwarte Huis, away from her father. Nobody wants to work there because a monster lives there. Maar Lampje does not believe in monsters.
Lampje is an adventure story with an amazing heroine, but it is also an atmospheric and poetic contemporary fairy tale based on the book by Annet Schaap.
I found the performance quite impressive because of Lampje's costume, the puppets were also well made. - Idas, 11 years old
