Brussels, gateway to the Europe Promenade guided in the European quarter When we evoke Europe in Brussels, we often imagine the large institutions. However, the European quarter is much more than a political center: it is a singular urban landscape, where the history of the city meets that of the European project. Notre Itinéraire starts at Schuman, to go around the Parlement Européen, in the heart of a district where deputies, civil servants, students, and residents cross paths. Between contemporary buildings of glass and steel and vestiges of a rural past, Brussels reveals here one of its most fascinating (and controversial) urban transformations. The walk will also lead us into the heart of the Parc Léopold, a true green lung of the district and Pandora's box with multiple lives. This course will allow us to understand how Europe settled in the Belgian capital and how this presence has profoundly transformed architecture, daily life, and identity.
