Think of One

Think of One first appeared in the mid-90s with their sizzling mix of jazz, folk, Weense Wals, and Balkan music. Later, they discovered Moroccan styles and made records with the Marrakech Emballages Ensemble. Then they made a turn towards Recife in Brazil. Their biggest hit, 'Paleto', dates from that time, and the BBC awarded them the World Music Award twice for the most adventurous and eclectic group. At the end of 2007, there was a temporary end. David Bovée emigrated to Brazil to work there as a “hired hand,” a hired musician. Roel Poriau and Tomas de Smet did the same in Europe. This way, they each continued to evolve musically, and when they returned to the rehearsal room together, they decided to hit the road again because the Antwerp shabi is not finished yet. As a travel-light power trio, they dive into the extensive Think of One repertoire and bring both reinterpretations of old material and new songs.
