Afternoon walk: unknown Aarsele

Despite the fact that Aarsele has a rich history and is a very pleasant village to live in, it remains best known for the plane crash in 1971 in which all 63 passengers lost their lives. Maar Aarsele also has a lot to offer in terms of landscape, and that is what we are going to discover that afternoon. This time we are heading down, literally and figuratively, to the meadow area around the Speibeek, where slow roads will take us to completely unknown but beautiful corners. A stream, pools, a wet forest, hedgerows, and numerous rows of pollard willows. It couldn't be more beautiful. A walk of about six kilometers will show you all that beauty.
