Die My Love is an American black comedy-thriller, directed and co-written by Lynne Ramsay. The film is based on the novel Matate, amor by the Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz, from 2012. The lead roles are played by Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger games) and Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter and Twilight trilogy).
Die My Love causes a shockwave through the combination of brute emotion, desperate love, and a compelling sound design. The film was selected for the main competition of the Filmfestival van Cannes.
Synopsis
Die My Love is the new film by Lynne Ramsay (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE). In this ‘intensely sensual study of a woman in meltdown’ (The Guardian), Jennifer Lawrence shines as a young mother who loses her grip on life. Grace (Jennifer Lawrence) and Jackson (Robert Pattinson) are a picture of young happiness. They move to an old house in Montana, which they renovate and where they enjoy nature. Soon they are expecting their first child. Maar Grace is not happy. The environment seems to swallow her up. She becomes increasingly agitated and her behavior becomes unpredictable. Jackson tries to win Grace back, but does not know how.
