WEB-site

WEB-site is a playful non-verbal performance that combines everyday movements with the acrobatic and the abstract. On stage, four dancers are connected to each other by means of elastic bands. Together, they explore the different possibilities that this construction offers. Sometimes the elastic bands seem to make it impossible to make physical contact with each other. They stretch just not quite enough to reach each other. Other times, the elastic bands make it impossible to walk away from each other. A game of stretching, pulling, and sometimes letting go arises. The dancers become frustrated. Frustrated by the limitation that the elastic bands place on their freedom of movement. Frustrated by the continuous tension under which they have to perform. However, when they look at the situation with a fresh perspective, they see possibilities. Imagination is central in WEB-site. Throughout the performance, the elastic bands change shape. A giant boxing ring, an elastic guitar, a catapult, a hammock, a leash... By letting imagination run wild, a literal web of meanings is created. A web of possibilities. An interactive workshop is linked to WEB-site that works in a playful, connecting way for families. Children can work together with parents/grandparents/sisters/brothers... on the movements they have seen during the performance.
