Welcome to café c o r s o, where the stage is small, but the art is no less great. Tonight, David Labi brings the text for his next performance Fatherload , for the first time in front of an audience. After his youth, David Labi traveled halfway around the world, in search of adventure and cheap kicks. Today he is sober and faces the biggest challenge of his life: a child, a baby, his baby. While the couscous and vomit fly around his ears, David asks himself the big questions: How do you raise a child while you are still growing yourself? How do you break the cycle of intergenerational trauma? And what happens to you when you snort milk powder? Fatherload , a production by Martha!tentatief, is the story of a man who hopes his children inherit more than his shortcomings. A monologue about modern fatherhood, shamelessly honest, moving, and hilarious.
