AFF presents: Ciska Ciska

Ciska Ciska is the project of Ghent singer-songwriter Ciska Dhaenens, who puts a fragile power into unearthly beautiful songs. With subtle guitars, sparse piano, controlled drums, and a golden voice, she draws the listener into her emotional world, where she shows herself fearlessly vulnerable. Her music is intimate, melancholic, and dreamy, but sometimes breaks open unexpectedly when a guitar dares to chafe a bit harder. The seductive mix of indie and americana moves in the footsteps of personal heroes like Julia Jacklin, Adrienne Lenker (Big Thief), and Aldous Harding. Last year, Ciska shone with her band at our festival.
