Brutalism in Dilbeek: CC Westrand and Brusselmans walk.

In the context of our cycle on brutalism, we are visiting the cultural center Westrand in Dilbeek built by Alfons Hoppenbrouwers. This brought a limited but idiosyncratic oeuvre and exerted a considerable influence as a teacher on generations of Flemish architects. The CC Westrand i.c.w. Rudy Somers belongs to his most important executed works built between 1968-1971). On the occasion of this visit, we are also doing the Brusselmans walk (4.5km) where you follow in the footsteps of the painter Jean Brusselmans. Guide is Paul Grard.
