L’Oriole + Anne van de Star

▲ L’ORIOLE L’oriole mixes the colors of the violin and cello strings with a timbral mechanism composed of transducers placed on sound objects. The sound of acoustic instruments resonates in a whole series of materials, offering new possibilities of colors and textures drawn from the resonance of these suspended bodies. Airy and raw, the music thus flutters in long contemplative flights to sometimes agglomerate into clouds of squawks and raw materials. She has created sound designs for dance and theater and is a founding member of the electronic duo Iiioiioiiioiio. Among her recent works is the creation of a series of analog instruments, ranging from resonant metal plates to a hand-pump organ.
