Memorial Expo - From Ivo to Mondo\nA unique journey through 50 years of the Memorial Van Damme
To celebrate the 50th edition of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, the exhibition From Ivo to Mondo takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of Belgium’s most prestigious athletics meeting and the remarkable legacy of Ivo Van Damme.\n\nHosted in the Lottery Shop on Place de Brouckère in the heart of Brussels, the exhibition brings together exclusive memorabilia, rare archive documents, photographs and audiovisual material, many of which have never been shown to the public before.\n\nVisitors can discover Ivo Van Damme’s Olympic silver medals from Montréal 1976, as well as his trophies, racing spikes, competition outfits and personal training notebooks, offering a unique insight into the life and career of one of Belgium’s most beloved athletes.\n\nThe exhibition also retraces the story of the Memorial Van Damme, from its very first edition in 1977 to its rise as a world-class athletics event. Through historic posters, trophies, records and iconic images, visitors can relive some of the greatest moments and performances witnessed at the Memorial over the past five decades.\n\nComplementing the exhibition, the Museum of World Athletics presents a collection of exceptional artefacts linked to athletics legends who have competed at the Memorial, including Alberto Juantorena, Carl Lewis, Usain Bolt and Mondo Duplantis.\n\nPractical information\n\nDates: 8 August – 6 September 2026\nVenue: Lottery Shop, Place de Brouckère, Brussels
