Detours Cyphers

Les Detours Cyphers, it is the very essence of Detours Festival. Every Wednesday of the summer, the Monts des Arts transforms into a stage space accessible to everyone for a festive moment that unfolds in three parts: an open stage where everyone can express themselves, a street performance, and a dance battle with a different style each week (break, house, krump, dancehall…). A true meeting place, the Cyphers bring together amateur and professional dancers, Belgian and international artists, in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. The public is fully involved and contributes to the unique energy of each session. The winners of the weekly battles are selected to participate in the Grande Finale of the festival, on October 24 at Théâtre National Wallonie-Brussels. Between performance, improvisation, and sharing, the Detours Cyphers celebrate the essence of hip-hop cultures: creativity, exchange, and respect. To launch this new season, an opening party will close the first battle, on July 15 at Halles St Gery, from 10 p.m.
