A young nurse, Alma, is put in charge of Elisabeth Vogler; an actress who seems healthy in every respect, but cannot - or will not - talk. While they spend time together, Alma constantly talks to Elisabeth, without ever getting an answer. Eventually, Alma confides her deepest secrets to a seemingly compassionate Elisabeth, and notices to her horror that her own personality begins to merge with that of Elisabeth.
