Ceramics is the first 'art of fire' to appear, at the end of prehistory in the Neolithic period. Initially symbolic objects, later becoming utilitarian, ceramics have always been a means of expression that lies somewhere between art and craft. It is a medium accessible to all; clay is a material that readily accepts each of our impressions, and is both demanding and involves a series of constraints that we will address throughout the year. "The year in the ceramics workshop at Artscade is punctuated by technical introductions, theoretical concepts, and practical exercises to help you understand all the challenges of this vast and complex medium." You will learn to develop your creativity through the use of clay. This will involve understanding all the stages of its transformation into a ceramic piece, questioning its content and form, and will lead you to acquire the autonomy necessary to develop your projects.
