No more space, too many toys and some rarely or no longer used... you don't know what to do with all these toys? Above all, do not throw them away because they can still be useful, give them! Important! This year, the collection takes place on the 2nd Saturday of October! To whom can I bring my toys? Take advantage of the traditional toy collection organized this Saturday, October 10 in all recycling parks in Wallonia to invite your children to come and drop off their toys there. Intermunicipal companies are cooperating with local associations to spread the message: "Before throwing away, think about reusing!" A solidarity action The solidarity aspect of this collection is important since it allows many partner associations, which work on the ground every day, to recover toys and redistribute them to underprivileged children, who without them, would undoubtedly not receive any at the end-of-year holidays! Among these associations, there are Maisons Croix-Red, children's institutions, refugee centers, CPAS, .... Giving your toys is also making a gesture for the environment! It is extending the lifespan of an object by preventing it from becoming waste. If we want to save our planet's natural resources, these "reuse" dynamics must become spontaneous. In the short term, everyone should transform their perspective and, before a purchase whether secondhand or not, ask themselves the question of the future of the object they plan to buy. If I no longer need it... I sell it, I exchange it, I give it... Circulating objects already used and still in good condition is one of the keys to a sustainable future. Some practical info Try, as much as possible, to give clean, complete and like-new toys! For example, board games, dolls, puzzles, construction toys, children's books, small bikes, soccer balls, outdoor games.... Please note, stuffed animals and battery-operated toys are not accepted.
