Louise Bourgeois - Joëlle Colaes

Only after her seventieth did she gradually become known as an artist, to be world-famous today with exhibitions all over the world. Recently, with some textile pieces in the temporary exhibition Girls at the Momu in Antwerp. Born in 1911 as a Parisian, she became an American citizen after her marriage. She passed away in 2010 at nearly one hundred years of age. She worked with many materials and used her deepest inner emotional world not only as a source of inspiration but above all as a survival strategy. As she puts it herself: 'I transform hate into love. That’s what makes me tick…….’.
