The ceremony

The wealthy Lelièvre family, who live in an isolated mansion in Brittany, near Saint-Malo, hires a new maid, Sophie. She soon becomes friends with Jeanne, a lively and curious postwoman. Once the illiteracy that Sophie was carefully hiding is discovered, tension rises. Combined with the postwoman's grudge against the Lelièvres, the maid's deep wound could well lead to tragedy.
