What is popular culture?

sam. 13 juin 2026 · 15:00
Théâtre Varia, Brussels
Everyone takes part in the exercise with an art they love (dance, singing, visual art, slam, rap, …) by answering the question: "What is popular culture?". The idea is to see how a story can be told with things other than words. Cette Fabrique around Sang pour Sang Johnny will be led by Aurianne Servais, author, performer and director of the show. A moment of exchange is planned to discover how Aurianne creates and writes, as well as how and why song plays an important role in her creations. Then everyone will participate in the exercise, with the possibility of a brief moment to share what they've created! As a reminder, what is a Fabrique? In the wake of several shows, the Fabriques offer you the opportunity to get to the heart of creative processes. These playful and privileged meetings will allow you to meet the programmed artists and start an intimate dialogue with them before the performance, discover their know-how from within and experience part of their method. Chosen speakers will orchestrate these workshops, between adults or as a family, over a drink or a snack. How a Fabrique worksEach Fabrique follows the same structure: from 3pm to 5pm, a workshop followed by a friendly break from 5pm to 6pm, with a complimentary drink, and finally, at 6pm, the show, for which the ticket is paid separately at your expense. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at +32 (0)2 640 35 50 during opening hours or via reservation@varia.be. Who can participate in the Fabriques?Les Fabriques are moments of artistic discovery aimed at a non-professional audience of performing arts. No prior experience is necessary to participate.
