When love turns into a nightmare.
Exciting – confronting – tragicomic – virtuoso - social
In Revolutionary Road we get to know April and Frank Wheeler and a few of their friends and colleagues. April and Frank are a beautiful couple. Life smiles at them: house, garden, children, work and love, so much love. They have it all. In order not to get bogged down in a narrow-minded bourgeois existence in a society in which conformism has become the norm, they conceive the radical plan to leave everything behind, move to Paris and start a new life there. But they are overtaken by reality and their dream shatters. Out of frustration, they aim their arrows at each other, causing their love to turn into a nightmare and a tragic outcome seems inevitable.
Ivana Noa and Flor Van Severen take on the roles of April and Frank Wheeler, Jolente De Keersmaeker and Robby Cleiren play all other roles. Two generations with a great love for text create a huis clos in which they attack each other with the razor-sharp dialogues of Richard Yates.
