The Surimpressions festival

In 2022, Surimpressions launched, with a (big) grain of madness, into the adventure of a paper magazine. In 2026, Surimpressions persists and signs, by launching… its own festival! A way for us to meet our audience (you, yes you, who are reading these lines), while defending the cinema that is close to our hearts, that is to say a plural, lively and stimulating cinema, which crosses genres and borders. For the first edition of this festival, we followed a common thread: anomaly. Each film we chose embodies this idea in one way or another: from Nan Goldin's fight to shake up the art world in the documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed to the falsely sunny holidays of Aftersun, passing through the unusual gaze of a three-year-old child in Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes. Anomaly is also the joyful Tollywood blockbuster RRR, whose success far beyond India is quite extraordinary. And anomaly is also, sometimes, a vegetarian but cannibalistic veterinarian, as in Grave. Alongside these films that have marked our cinephile lives in recent years, this first edition also includes some unreleased feature films in its programming: the drama Behind the Palms, as well as our mystery film, which you will be able to discover just a few weeks after its screening in Cannes! Surprise guests, drinks and meetings are also on the program for this 3-day festival, where we hope to see many of you!
