Butterfly watching at Resterheide

In the summer, Resterheide turns into a mosaic of butterfly landscapes. Along forest edges, colorful meadow browns flash through the sunlight, while on open heathlands, silver-studded blues float above the purple bloom. In flower-rich thickets, butterflies dance around thistles and blackberry bushes, where nectar can be found in abundance. Thanks to this alternation of forest, heath, and thicket, many different summer butterflies feel at home here. Sun, shelter, and food are close together, which yields new discoveries with every walk. Those who look quietly and take their time will notice that every landscape has its own butterflies and stories.
