Sumi-E - spring 2026

Leer de Japanse art of black ink painting, sumi-e! In this workshop, the Japanese artist Hiro Ojima shows you the basics. First, we learn about the movement of the brush, the characteristics of the ink, the Japanese paper, and how you can steer the movements of the brush with your body and breathing. Then we learn to paint basic objects, such as bamboo, vegetables, flowers, fish, trees, etc. A creative self-expression where your head, heart, and hands are in harmony. You don't have to be able to draw. If you do not have the necessary material (Chinese ink, 3 Sumi-E brushes, or Japanese paper) you can buy this at the start of the course from the teacher (40 euros for the whole package).
