How well do you know the person closest to you? Rose has a close bond with her older brother Sam, her rock, who even lets her sleep on his couch when her relationship with her girlfriend ends. But when Sam is accused of a serious sex offense and Rose is asked to testify against him, her worldview collapses. As she balances between loyalty to her brother and her own conscience, everything she thought she knew about Sam begins to waver. The Good Sister is a compelling psychological drama about Rose’s inner struggle between loyalty and doubt, with Marie Bloching in a powerful lead role. Regisseur Sarah Miro Fischer makes the tension and complexity of human relationships palpable and shows how family ties can lead to unexpected and difficult moral choices. After her short film Spit (2021), Fischer made her feature film debut with The Good Sister, which had its world premiere at the Filmfestival van Berlijn and was subsequently shown at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
