THE FLANDRIENS, an amateur cycling club with their hearts in the right place (and their legs perhaps a little less so), dream big. To celebrate their golden jubilee, they want to climb the legendary Mont Ventoux. A serious undertaking that requires thorough preparation. That is why the dreaded Muur van Geraardsbergen is on the program first. But it soon becomes clear that climbing is not their strong point. Most of them don't get further than some uncertain track-standing on the steeper sections. The dream of the Ventoux seems further away than ever. Should they just shelve their ambitious plans? Or is there, despite their lack of climbing talent, still a glimmer of hope? THE FLANDRIENS is a delightful situational comedy full of recognizable and colorful characters who end up in hilarious situations. A story about friendship, perseverance (or the lack thereof), and the typically Flemish passion for cycling.
